Governator Approves “Environmental Exemption” Bill, OK’s L.A. Football Stadium
Developer Majestic Realty Co. will build a 75,000-seat NFL-style stadium in the City of Industry, about 15 miles east of Los Angeles, inĀ hopes of luring an already existing team to move to the largest city in the U.S. without an NFL team. The company is considering 7 teams, including the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, and San Diego Chargers.
In signing the “environmental exemption” bill, Governor Schwarzenegger has helped to generate 18,000 jobs and more than $762 million in economic output. However, he has also given Majestic Realty Co. carte blanche to do what they like to the property they plan to build on, which raises much concern among environmental activist groups in southern California. It sounds to me like Arnie is desperate to start chipping away at the massive debt he has accrued for the state of California during his reign.
